You are such a mellow baby. You are very "chill" and very content. As a newborn, you are already a champion nurser! You eat every 3 hours, day and night, for about 15 minutes on each side. You LOVE to eat and to be held - your favorite way to be held is upright on someone's shoulder. You aren't picky about whose shoulder though - Dad's, Mom's, or Grandma's will do just fine! You also LOVE your paci - you usually have one hand on it while it's in your mouth so that it doesn't fall out. :)
You hate being in the biliblanket though - I think it makes you feel all alone and you don't like that. You also don't like the goggles we have to put on to protect your eyes. Luckily you only needed it until you were a week old!
Your poor little face is still a little orange from the jaundice. The doctor said that that could last for up to a month. You are our little pumpkin head! :)
You really are the sweetest baby, Maddie. You sleep pretty well at night, at least until you got sick of the biliblanket and angry that I kept you in it. Other than that though, you pretty consistently sleep three hour stretches. Momma is very lucky! You generally only fuss when you are hungry, need a diaper change, or are tired of the phototherapy. Even then, you just sort of squirm and grunt rather than full blown cry. It's really cute, actually!
On your left eyelid is an "angel kiss" birthmark. I tell you every day how it is from Grandma Nichols kissing you before she sent you down to me. I like to tell you stories of your Grandma and I wish so badly that she was here with you and me!
We love you so much, Madelynn. You have brought so much joy to our family and I already can't imagine my life without you!
